Rooney Mara will be "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo", Columbia Pictures has confirmed, Monday [08 - 16 - 2010].Rooney will play as Lisbeth Salander in the big screen adaptation of the works of American literature, Stieg Larsson, "The Millennium Trilogy."
The actress will present at the theater through "The Social Network", with Justin Timberlake [and directed by David Fincher].
Rooney Mara has been rumored that beat many competitors, which include Natalie Portman, Ellen Page and a new actress who was nominated for an Oscar, Carey Mulligan.
Last week, only Rooney, a French actress:Lea Seydoux and two Australian actress:Sarah Snook and Sophie Lowe reportedly left in the competition, before Rooney finally chosen to play a role as Lisbeth.
